Dr. Burke wanted to be a vet for as long as she can remember! Originally from southwestern Ontario, Dr. Burke completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Laurentian University in Sudbury before heading over to London, UK for veterinary school. She qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and remained in London running her own clinic until May 2021. During that time she also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Professional Studies and a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, concentrating on internal medicine.
Although she now concentrates on small animals, throughout veterinary school Dr. Burke participated in various zoo and wildlife projects. This included wildlife rehabilitation in South Africa, as well as clinical and research roles at the Toronto, London, and Lincoln Park zoos.
Dr. Burke lives in Toronto with her two sphynx cats, Hefner and Boo, who travelled back from the UK with her. Her clinical interests are vast, but she particularly enjoys the management of chronic medical conditions, soft tissue surgeries, and caring for geriatric patients.
